{it's pronounced {rah-kaz kay-sa,}, and spoken much slower than you'd think is normal. it took me a while, too.}

"Rakas kesä" means "my darling sunshine" in Finnish, a phrase that will always remind me of my childhood. My grandfather grew up in urban Helsinki, emigrating to Canada in the early 1950's. Although he chose to learn English and adapt to the Canadian way of life, his calling me "kesä" as a child was a nod of his head to his upbringing.

Even on the coldest day in the middle of winter the moment that rays of sunshine start to dance across my face, my spirit will lift and I will find inspiration. This is a place for beautiful words, inspiring photos, and positive self-expression.

This is my happy place.
