Lara Jean is having the best senior year ever, and she wants to enjoy every moment...even the ones that don't go the way she planned.
I can't even begin to describe how excited I was for Always and Forever, Lara Jean! It's the third (and last) book by Jenny Han about Lara Jean's high school life, and it's absolutely charming. Lara Jean is a very down-to-earth, homebody-type that likes to bake and read and go to bed early--so basically she is my soul mate. She also has a super hot boyfriend named Peter that I may have a literary crush on (I do).
Like Lara Jean, I planned out my life in high school. I knew what courses I would take, where I wanted to go to university, and what I would major in. I knew all of the details about grad programs and PhDs, and I had a plan. Also like Lara Jean, that plan went to shit and I had to learn to roll with it.
I really love the characters in this series, and I really loved watching them grow and change throughout the series. It may not be Tolkien, but all three books are light and fun reads that leave you feeling content. This last installment is by far my favourite, and wrapped up the series nicely. I would kill to read about Lara Jean in university, but Jenny Han has sworn this is the last we'll see of these characters.
